Review of the Book titled "The Immortals of Meluha"

"The Immortals of Meluha" is the first book from the Shiva Trilogy (a series of 3 books) by Amish Tripathi. Although I am not a big fan of Mythological stories, I like the story of this book and I am keen to read the next part.

One of my friend suggested me in 2010 to read this book but as I said earlier, I am not much interested in mythological stories. One more time she insisted and I bought the book in 2012 but just put it with my other books. This time in the Diwali vacation I accidentally found this book in my hand and thought to give it a try. As soon as I started reading it, I got more and more interest in it.

Amish has taken care of almost everything about Hindu religion and India. He tried his best to give very good English meaning to the typical Hindi words. I really appreciate his effort for that. I feel like, he spent to many words on describing the things and situation which need very lesser words, but it might be the writing style of mythological stories (otherwise how it can become this much thicker in size!!! ;) ).

Overall, it's very interesting book to read. It has nothing to do with religious things but connection with the real character make it more interesting. I like the maika system from this story. We should have that kind of system in India so that parents doesn't force their children to do what they wants them to do instead allow them to do what they are best at.
